DockZonal Standards

Listing Policy

This Listing Policy explains how businesses may appear on DockZonal, how listing information may be collected and updated, how businesses may claim or manage listings, and the standards that apply to businesses participating in the DockZonal directory and marketplace.

Last Updated: September 28, 2026

DockZonal is a directory and marketplace for businesses serving the marine, waterfront, residential, commercial, and industrial dock industries. Listings are intended to help users discover relevant dock professionals and understand the services available in their area.

Inclusion on DockZonal does not automatically mean that a business is endorsed, recommended, certified, licensed, insured, screened, or otherwise approved by DockZonal.

1. Businesses Eligible for Listing

DockZonal primarily lists businesses that provide products or services related to docks, marine construction, waterfront infrastructure, loading docks, dock equipment, maintenance, repair, installation, or related specialties.

Eligible businesses may include dock builders, marine contractors, boat lift installers, dock repair companies, marina contractors, loading dock contractors, dock equipment suppliers, dock leveler companies, overhead door companies, marine construction firms, seawall and bulkhead contractors, piling contractors, dock manufacturers, and other relevant service providers.

2. How Listings Are Created

A business listing may be created from information supplied directly by the business, submitted by a user, obtained from publicly available business information, sourced from a business website, or obtained from other sources considered appropriate for directory purposes.

DockZonal may create, publish, maintain, update, or enrich an informational listing for an eligible business even if the business has not personally submitted, claimed, or requested the listing.

3. Information That May Appear in a Listing

Depending on availability and relevance, a DockZonal listing may include:

  • Business name
  • Address and service area
  • Telephone number
  • Business website
  • Business description
  • Services and specialties
  • Marine, residential, commercial, or industrial categories
  • Photos or logos
  • Hours of operation
  • Years in business, when available
  • Licensing or certification information, when available
  • Service locations
  • Project types
  • Other information useful to prospective customers

4. Accuracy of Listing Information

DockZonal aims to provide useful and reasonably accurate business information. However, business information can change, and we do not guarantee that every listing will always be complete, current, accurate, or error-free.

Businesses and users are encouraged to notify DockZonal when they identify incorrect, outdated, duplicate, or incomplete listing information.

5. Claiming a Business Listing

An owner, authorized employee, or authorized representative of a business may request to claim or manage a listing.

DockZonal may request reasonable verification before granting management access. Verification may include confirmation through a business email address, telephone number, website, documentation, or another method reasonably connected to the business.

Claiming a listing does not give the business ownership of DockZonal’s page, design, database structure, rankings, editorial content, or platform.

Claiming a listing does not guarantee that the business will receive leads, referrals, inquiries, additional visibility, higher rankings, traffic, customers, or any other commercial benefit unless expressly included in a separate DockZonal program or service.

6. Free Listing Claims and Paid Services

DockZonal may allow eligible businesses to claim an existing listing at no charge. Claiming a listing is separate from purchasing advertising, featured placement, enhanced listing features, lead services, subscriptions, or other optional paid products or services.

DockZonal may change, add, discontinue, or modify listing features, account features, promotional opportunities, or paid services from time to time.

7. Business Responsibilities

Businesses that submit, claim, or manage listings are responsible for ensuring that the information they provide is accurate, lawful, current, and not misleading.

Businesses must not falsely claim licenses, insurance, certifications, experience, service areas, affiliations, reviews, project history, awards, qualifications, or other credentials.

8. Licensing, Insurance and Qualifications

DockZonal may display licensing, certification, insurance, or qualification information when such information is available, but DockZonal does not guarantee the status, validity, scope, completeness, or current standing of those credentials.

Users should independently verify any credential that is important to a project before hiring a business or entering into a contract.

9. Photos, Logos and Other Content

Businesses may be permitted to submit logos, photographs, project images, descriptions, and other materials for use in their listings.

By submitting content, the submitting party represents that it has the right to provide and authorize use of that content. DockZonal may remove content that appears infringing, misleading, inappropriate, irrelevant, unauthorized, or inconsistent with our policies.

10. Duplicate Listings

DockZonal may combine, remove, redirect, or otherwise manage duplicate listings when multiple pages appear to represent the same business or location. Businesses should not create duplicate listings in an attempt to gain additional visibility or manipulate search results.

11. Service Areas and Locations

Businesses should represent their actual service areas accurately. A business should not claim to serve cities, states, counties, waterways, lakes, coastal areas, or regions where it does not reasonably provide services.

DockZonal may determine how listings appear across city, state, category, service, waterway, and service-area pages based on relevance, location, available information, user needs, and platform structure.

12. Free, Claimed, Enhanced, Featured and Sponsored Listings

DockZonal may offer different types of listings or promotional opportunities, including free listings, claimed listings, enhanced profiles, featured listings, sponsored placements, advertising packages, subscriptions, or lead-generation services.

Paid features may provide additional visibility, expanded listing information, promotional placement, additional images, calls to action, lead-related features, or other benefits.

Claiming a listing is not the same as purchasing advertising, featured placement, lead services, or other paid services. DockZonal may provide free claiming separately from optional paid products and services.

Payment for a listing, promotional service, lead service, or other DockZonal product does not mean that DockZonal guarantees or endorses the business’s quality, qualifications, workmanship, customer service, licensing, insurance, or suitability for any particular project.

13. Listing Order and Visibility

DockZonal may determine listing order, placement, prominence, category assignment, search visibility, and geographic visibility using factors such as relevance, location, completeness, user experience, business category, service area, listing type, promotional status, responsiveness, and other platform considerations.

DockZonal does not guarantee any business a particular ranking, amount of traffic, number of leads, number of impressions, search position, or level of visibility unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement.

14. Reviews and Ratings

DockZonal may allow or display customer reviews, ratings, comments, or other feedback. Reviews represent the opinions or experiences of the people who submit them and do not necessarily reflect DockZonal’s views.

DockZonal may remove, decline, moderate, or restrict reviews that appear fraudulent, abusive, defamatory, irrelevant, promotional, submitted by a competitor or conflicted party, or otherwise inconsistent with platform policies.

15. Prohibited Listing Practices

Businesses may not use DockZonal listings to:

  • Impersonate another company or individual
  • Submit false or materially misleading business information
  • Create misleading or duplicate listings
  • Misrepresent licensing, insurance, credentials, or affiliations
  • Claim services the business does not actually provide
  • Misrepresent service areas or locations
  • Manipulate ratings, reviews, rankings, or visibility
  • Submit spam, keyword stuffing, or irrelevant promotional content
  • Upload infringing or unauthorized content
  • Use deceptive contact information
  • Misuse customer or lead information obtained through DockZonal
  • Use the platform for unlawful or fraudulent purposes

16. Removal or Suspension of Listings

DockZonal may remove, suspend, restrict, edit, merge, or decline a listing when we reasonably believe it violates this policy, contains materially inaccurate or misleading information, is fraudulent, no longer represents an operating business, creates a security or legal concern, or does not fit the purpose of the DockZonal directory.

DockZonal may also remove or alter listings when reasonably necessary to maintain the quality, integrity, usability, security, or legal compliance of the platform.

17. Business Closure or Ownership Changes

If a business closes, changes ownership, relocates, changes its name, or substantially changes its services, DockZonal may update, archive, redirect, remove, merge, or create a new listing as appropriate based on the circumstances.

18. Requests to Remove or Correct a Listing

Businesses may contact DockZonal regarding a listing that represents their business. We will review removal, correction, ownership, privacy, and other requests based on the circumstances and applicable law.

Because DockZonal may publish factual information about businesses using lawful public sources, a request from a business does not necessarily require DockZonal to remove all publicly available business information.

19. Leads, Referrals and Customer Inquiries

DockZonal may provide businesses with opportunities to receive customer inquiries, project requests, referrals, introductions, or leads from users seeking dock, marine, waterfront, boat lift, seawall, bulkhead, marina, loading dock, or related products or services.

DockZonal may provide certain leads or opportunities free of charge or may charge businesses for access to leads, referrals, introductions, lead programs, subscriptions, advertising programs, or related services.

Unless a particular lead, referral, opportunity, or program is expressly identified by DockZonal as exclusive, DockZonal may provide or offer the same or similar project opportunity to more than one potentially relevant service provider.

DockZonal does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, responsiveness, availability, budget, project scope, purchasing intent, or ultimate value of any prospective customer, inquiry, or project opportunity.

Participation in a lead program or payment for a lead, referral, introduction, subscription, or other service does not guarantee that an inquiry will result in contact, a response, site visit, appointment, estimate, contract, completed project, payment, customer relationship, or revenue.

20. Use of Customer and Lead Information

Businesses receiving customer information, project requests, referrals, or leads through DockZonal may use that information for legitimate purposes related to evaluating and responding to the customer’s request and offering relevant services.

Businesses are responsible for protecting customer information they receive and for complying with applicable privacy, communications, marketing, consumer-protection, data-security, and other laws governing their use of that information.

Customer or lead information obtained through DockZonal may not be sold, publicly posted, misused, used for fraudulent purposes, or used for purposes unrelated to the customer’s request without appropriate authorization or another lawful basis.

21. Contractor Responsibility for Customer Projects

Businesses are responsible for communicating directly with prospective customers, evaluating projects, confirming project requirements, providing estimates, determining pricing and availability, entering into contracts, obtaining required permits or approvals, completing work, providing warranties, collecting payments, and complying with applicable laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and professional obligations.

DockZonal is not responsible for supervising a contractor’s work or for agreements, pricing, payments, workmanship, scheduling, warranties, disputes, property damage, or other matters arising between a customer and an independent business.

22. DockZonal Does Not Guarantee Providers

A listing on DockZonal is intended to help users discover potential providers. Unless DockZonal expressly states otherwise, inclusion in the directory, claiming a listing, participating in a lead program, or purchasing a promotional service does not constitute certification, endorsement, warranty, recommendation, or guarantee of a provider’s services, qualifications, licensing, insurance, pricing, safety, reliability, availability, or workmanship.

23. Changes to This Listing Policy

DockZonal may update this Listing Policy as our directory, marketplace features, business programs, lead services, technology, or legal requirements evolve. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised date.
